Instead of love, you feel like betraying yourself, repeating lies, losing trust in yourself, and deepening disconnection with your true self. We want to escape uncomfortable emotions by seeing only the smiling, successful people on the internet. We think this is happiness.
What happiness really is?
Try to feel the difference between joy, pride, excitement and happiness. Happiness is the state that lasts the longest. Like for the other pleasant feelings, you need a reason to feel them; happiness is beyond anything; it is just purely joy from being alive. Life is a full spectrum of feelings, you can't go through it without being sad, angry, scared, ashamed, etc. EVERY feeling appears for your good. There is ALWAYS a reason why you experience these specific emotions, suppress them is like a crime against nature. The energy in your body was already created and wants to be expressed. Otherwise, it will become stuck in the form of tense muscles, causing discomfort, pain or disease. And you will love yourself even less, because how can you love yourself if you don’t accept yourself as you are and reject your feelings? Imagine a child crying because it falls over while running. You see his bleeding knee and tell him to smile through tears. Pretending that nothing has happened, you take his hand, and continue running despite he is lame on one leg. This is what you do to yourself when you rush into positivity. You are hurt, and don't give attention to your pain. You escape with affirmations, but an untreated wound begins to fester. Imagine giving yourself a space to express your emotions, and the tension in your body will decrease. You care about your wound, giving it time to heal. You prove that you love yourself no matter what, feeling grateful for falling over because it teaches you a better way of running!
